ABOUT

Bayview-Hunters Point, also known as The Bayview, is in the southeastern corner of San Francisco. Once used as a pasture for cattle by Franciscan monks and home to Chinese shrimping settlements, the United States Navy purchased a section of property to develop the San Francisco Naval Shipyard in 1940, which ultimately closed in 1974. Today, Bayview-Hunters Point serves a flourishing arts and manufacturing community.
