ABOUT

Bernal Heights was part of the Rancho de las Salinas y Potrero Nuevo and is named for Jose Cornelio de Bernal, a soldier in Juan Bautista de Anza’s 1776 expedition. Often referred to as “Maternal Heights,” Bernal Heights is known for its small-town feel, “banana belt” weather of warmer temperatures, and Bernal Heights Park, offering a 360-degree City view.
