ABOUT

Most of the streets in the Excelsior are named after countries, cities, and even Native American tribes, such as Seneca, Modoc, Onondaga, and Oneida. The neighborhood is known for its many festivals, including the Excelsior Festival, the Excelsior District Annual Car Show, and Jerry Day, which celebrates Jerry Garcia, the neighborhood’s arguably most famous resident, in August.
