ABOUT

Haight Ashbury is named for the intersection of Haight and Ashbury streets, the latter named for Munroe Ashbury, a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors from 1864 to 1870 who helped plan Golden Gate Park. The neighborhood is known as the birthplace of 1967’s Summer of Love and the epicenter of the hippie movement.
