ABOUT

As one of San Francisco’s historical landmarks, Treasure Island is an artificial island created in 1936-1937 between San Francisco and Oakland. Built by the federal government, the island was used as an airport for service of flying boats. Later, during WWII, the island became part of a Naval Base and served for electrical purposes and Navy departures.
