Environmental Review Documents

Chapter 31 of the SF Administrative Code requires a clear timeline for appeals for California Environmental Quality Act documents. Section 31.04 (h) contains the definitions for the approval action of projects and Section 31.16 outlines the process for appealing determinations. To identify the approval action applied to a specific project, locate the environmental document under these Review Categories:

Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs) and Negative Declarations
General Plan, Community Plan and Infill Evaluations
Area Plan EIRs

Notices of Determination & Notices of Exemption
CEQA Exemptions and Public Agencies Exemptions
Archive of review documents or submit a request to CPC-RecordRequest@sfgov.org
