Fillmore Community Action Plan - OEWD Project Updates
Tuesday, April 21, 2026
Come hear from the Office of Economic and Workforce Development (OEWD) about current projects in the Fillmore / Western Addition neighborhood.
The Fillmore Community Action Plan is a partnership between the City and community members to create lasting, community-driven change.
The Fillmore / Western Addition is the heart of San Francisco’s Black cultural life. For generations, it has been home to vibrant Black, Japanese, and Jewish communities — a rich blend reflected in its music, businesses, festivals, and landmarks. However, urban renewal and redevelopment in the mid-20th century displaced Black residents, disrupting community ties and leaving lasting impacts that are still felt today.
Through engagement, collaboration and consensus the plan will build a roadmap for meaningful short and long-term investments — one that honors the Fillmore’s history and uplifts its future.
