The San Francisco Planning Department has been working on a new public realm plan for the Civic Center and has recently presented a final draft for public comment.
The San Francisco Public Library presents a panel discussion addressing what is a Civic Center, how the San Francisco Civic Center came about and where it’s heading in the future.
Please join the following presenters:
- Jim Haas, Civic Center advocate and author of The San Francisco Civic Center: A History of the Design, Controversies, and Realization of a City Beautiful Masterpiece
- Nicholas Perry, project manager for the Plan at the SF Planning Department, and
- Willett Moss, landscape architect and Plan consultant
as they discuss their draft and how it relates to the original plans, while accommodating 21st century needs.
