Join District 8 Supervisor Rafael Mandelman and San Francisco Planning for a community forum about a potential historic landmark District Designation in the Castro: the Eureka Valley Commercial & Castro Village LGBTQ+ Historic District.
The district combines two histories: the Eureka Valley Commercial development (1879 to 1932), and the Castro Village LGBTQ+ neighborhood (1953 to 1980).
San Francisco Planning staff will be on hand to discuss the landmark designation process, associated preservation incentives and responsibilities, and opportunities for public participation.
An in-person version of this event will take place on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
