Notice is hereby given to the general public that the Historic Preservation Commission will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on the matter below on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, beginning at 12:30 p.m. or later, in City Hall, 1 Dr. Carlton B. Goodlett Place, Room 400.

2019-022536DES:  4767-4773 Mission Street - Assessor’s Parcel No. 6084, Lot 021 (District 11). Consideration to Recommend to the Board of Supervisors designation of the Royal Baking Company Building as an individual Article 10 Landmark pursuant to Section 1004.2 of the Planning Code. The Royal Baking Company Building was initiated for designation by the Board of Supervisors on November 19, 2019 (See BoS File No. 191189). The subject property is significant for its association with the history of the Italian-American community in San Francisco, the City’s twentieth-century macaroni and bread-baking industries and as an excellent example of Storybook and Art Deco architectural styles. It is located in an Excelsior Outer Mission Street Neighborhood Commercial Zoning District and a 65-X Height and Bulk District. 2019-019493PTA: 972 Mission Street - North side of Mission Street between 6th Street and Mint Street; Lot 021 in Assessor’s Block 3704 (District 6) - Request for a Major Permit to Alter to install a new elevator penthouse on the roof that will be visible from a public right-of-way. The subject property is located within the Article 11 Mint-Mission Conservation District and is located within a C-3-G (Downtown-General) Zoning District and a 160-F Height and Bulk District. Persons who are unable to attend the scheduled Commission hearing may submit written comments regarding these cases to the individuals listed for each case above at the Planning Department, 1650 Mission Street, 4th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94103. Comments received by 9:30 a.m. on the day of the hearing will be made a part of the official record and will be brought to the attention of the Commission.

Pursuant to Government Code § 65009, if you challenge, in court, the approval of a conditional use, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Planning Commission at, or prior to, the public hearing.
