Instructions for Calling-In to a Meeting

  1. DIAL the number listed for the meeting toll-free at 1 (415) 655-0001.
  2. Enter the Access Code for this meeting: 146 332 8972 then press #. If prompted for an Attendee ID, just press #.
    Please note: the Access Code will change for every meeting.
  3. Stop and LISTEN.
  4. Wait for Public Comment to be announced (by Item # or for General Public Comment).
  5. When the Commission/Hearing Secretary calls Public Comment, press *3 to raise your hand.
  6. Once you raise your hand, you will hear the prompt, “You have raised your hand to ask a question. Please wait to speak until the host calls on you.” If you no longer want to submit public comment, press*3 to lower your hand.
  7. Wait for your turn to speak.
  8. When you hear the prompt, “Your line is unmuted” – THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE YOUR PUBLIC COMMENT.
  9. The Commission/Hearing Secretary will indicate how much time you have to provide your comments. You will be alerted when you have 30 seconds remaining.
  10. Once your public comment time have ended, you will be moved out of the speaker line and back listening as a participant in the meeting (unless you disconnect).

Notice is hereby given to the general public that applications involving the properties and/or issues described below have been filed with the Historic Preservation Commission will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on the matter below on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, beginning at 12:30 p.m. or later. Please be advised that due to the COVID-19 emergency, the Historic Preservation Commission will conduct this hearing remotely using videoconferencing technology. 2021-001791PCA [Board File No. 210116]: Review of Large Residence Developments – Ordinance amending the Planning Code to require Conditional Use Authorization for certain large residence developments in Residential, House (RH) zoning districts; affirming the Planning Department’s determination under the California Environmental Quality Act; and making findings of consistency with the General Plan, and the eight priority policies of Planning Code, Section 101.1, and findings of public convenience, necessity, and welfare under Planning Code, Section 302. 2020-005897PTA: 233 Geary Street – southwest corner of the intersection Geary and Stockton Streets, Lot 001 in Assessor’s Block 0314 (District 3) – Request for a Permit to Alter to complete exterior alterations such as ground floor modifications, expansion of existing window openings, and removal of a portion of the blank, western elevation as part of the conversion of the subject building to a mix of retail, office, and residential uses. 233 Geary Street is located in the C-3-R (Downtown-Retail) Zoning District and the 80-130-F Height and Bulk District. 2021-001102PTA: 660 Market Street – north side of Market Street between Kearny and Montgomery Streets, Lot 005 in Assessor’s Block 0311 (District 3) – Request for a Permit to Alter to install non-visible exterior building maintenance equipment atop the roof of the subject building. Maintenance equipment will include tie-back anchors, a lifeline, and various guard rails. The rear/side parapet will also be extended. No work will be visible from the surrounding public right-of-way. 660 Market Street is located in the C-3-O (Downtown-Office) Zoning District and the 250-S Height and Bulk District. This action constitutes the Approval Action for the project for the purposes of CEQA, pursuant to San Francisco Administrative Code Section 31.04(h). 2015-001033COA-02: 940 Battery Street – east side of Battery Street between Vallejo Street and Green Street, Assessor’s Block 0136, Lot 004A (District 3). Request for a Certificate of Appropriateness for interior and exterior alterations to the property in support of a change of use from a commercial/industrial space to a museum, including modifications to window and door openings at the Battery Street façade, construction of a one-story rooftop addition, and modifications to the rear elevation including the creation of two covered setback terraces. This project was previously approved through Motion No. M-0345 at an HPC hearing on August 1, 2018. The project has undergone no changes since that time, and is returning to HPC solely to seek an extension of the expiration date of the original Motion. The subject property is listed as a contributing building within the Northeast Waterfront Landmark District, and is located within a C-2 (Community Business) Zoning District and a 65-X Height and Bulk District. This action constitutes the Approval Action for the project for the purposes of CEQA, pursuant to San Francisco Administrative Code Section 31.04(h). Comments received by 9:30 a.m. on the day of the hearing will be made a part of the official record and will be brought to the attention of the Planning Commission.

Pursuant to Government Code § 65009, if you challenge, in court, the approval of a conditional use, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Planning Commission at, or prior to, the public hearing.
