Join District 8 Supervisor Rafael Mandelman and San Francisco Planning for a community forum about potential individual landmark and landmark district designations in the Mission Dolores neighborhood. San Francisco Planning staff will be on hand to discuss the landmark designation process, associated preservation incentives and responsibilities, and opportunities for public participation.

Individual Landmarks and Landmark Districts are unique and irreplaceable assets, serving to enhance and protect many of the physical surroundings in which past generations lived. Alert Alley and Chula Lane–Abbey Street Early Residential Districts are representative collections of Italianate, Classical Revival and Queen Anne residential buildings constructed between 1865 and 1912. These districts, along with several individual properties, were identified for potential landmarking in the Mission Dolores Neighborhood Historic Context Statement and survey, adopted in 2022.
