Instructions for Calling-In to a Meeting

  1. DIAL the number listed for the meeting toll-free at 1 (415) 655-0001.
  2. Enter the Access Code for this meeting: 2490 006 9029 then press #. If prompted for an Attendee ID, just press #.
    Please note: the Access Code will change for every meeting.
  3. Stop and LISTEN.
  4. Wait for Public Comment to be announced (by Item # or for General Public Comment).
  5. When the Commission/Hearing Secretary calls Public Comment, press *3 to raise your hand.
  6. Once you raise your hand, you will hear the prompt, “You have raised your hand to ask a question. Please wait to speak until the host calls on you.” If you no longer want to submit public comment, press*3 to lower your hand.
  7. Wait for your turn to speak.
  8. When you hear the prompt, “Your line is unmuted” – THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO PROVIDE YOUR PUBLIC COMMENT.

The Planning Commission intends to hold a PUBLIC HEARING on these items and on other matters on Thursday, October 6, 2022, beginning at 1:00 p.m. or later. Please be advised that due to the COVID-19 emergency, the Planning Commission may conduct this hearing remotely using videoconferencing technology or in-person at City Hall. 2022-004159CUA: 3334 SACRAMENTO STREET – North side of Sacramento Street between Walnut Street and Presidio Avenue; Lot 006 in Assessor's Block 1008 (District 1) - Request for a Conditional Use Authorization pursuant to Planning Code Sections 724 and 303 to legalize an approximately 900 square foot Personal Service use at the existing ground floor commercial tenant space. The existing Personal Service use will continue to function as a salon (d.b.a. Sublime Salon) and occupy the ground floor only, within an NCD (Sacramento Street Neighborhood Commercial) Zoning District and a 40-X height and Bulk District. The project is located within the CVR (Chinatown-Visitor Retail) Zoning District and 50-N Height and Bulk District. 2022-005675CUA: 429 CASTRO STREET – East side of Castro Street between 18th and 17th Streets; Lot 085 in Assessor’s Block 3582 (District 8) – Request for a Conditional Use Authorization, pursuant to Planning Code Sections 182(b), 202.4, 303, and 715, to establish Nighttime Entertainment and a Bar Use on the first and second stories, alongside the existing Movie Theater Use within the existing multi-story theater building. The project includes interior and exterior alterations, including construction of a new one-story rear addition to add new dressing rooms, a restroom, and a storage platform. This Conditional Use Authorization requires a legislative amendment to the Planning Code to require a Conditional Use Authorization to establish a Nighttime Entertainment Use on the second floor within the Castro Street NCD Zoning District (See Board of Supervisors File Nos. 220709 and 220862). Comments received by 9:30 a.m. on the day of the hearing will be made a part of the official record and will be brought to the attention of the Commission.

Pursuant to Government Code § 65009, if you challenge, in court, the approval of a conditional use, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the Commission at, or prior to, the public hearing.
