The Planning Department is responsible for helping shape an inclusive City with more equitable, sustainable, and healthy communities. Part of this responsibility includes reviewing and approving development and land use projects. This document includes information on community engagement best practices, the purpose and benefits of good public outreach, when and how engagement can occur during the development review process, and resources to assist Project Applicants.
